I need to do 5 sites with users. Each user should only have to sign up for one site yet be able to log in to all sites. Must be open-source and php. I would like anyone's opinion on the best cms platform or specific method to accomplish this.

Drupal lets you run multiple sites off one code base. You can integrate the users' accounts as well.
