Importing property listings into Wordpress

I have been asked to redesign a property management companies website in which I am planning to use Wordpress as the CMS.

They use a piece of software called Focus Rent to manage their property listings and this also gives them the ability to upload the info to [edit:a major listing service] at the click of a button. They would like to be able to do the same thing but uploading to their own website. Has anyone got any experience of using this software or integrating something similar with Wordpress?

I know that .csv files can be imported into Wordpress and that this updates posts automatically. This might be the way to go, but I can't see a way that old listings/posts would be removed/deleted without doing it manually.

Any help advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to WebmasterWorld!
In my experience, I suggest you don't try to "integrate it" into WordPress. WordPress works great as it is. Use it that way. You can include this software pretty easily if it can be skinned to look like the rest of the site. All you need to do is to make sure you have links between the two.

If it were my project, I'd include a link somewhere in the navigation (probably the side bar using a text-widget) that sent the user to a custom page where FocusRent lived. THat page would look exactly like the WP pages - the difference would be that it was hand built and not part of the WP CMS. Make sense?

Yes makes sense. Think I'll have to look more closely at FocusRent to see how this can be achieved.

Thanks.
