Joomla duplicate home page issue

Hi,
I do have a website abc.com but on the website in my main menu I created a menu/link that says homepage for people to be able to come back to the homepage easily.

My issue the link in the menu has a different web address www.abc.com/home-page.html

How can I migrate those 2 links into 1 link which is only www.abc.com because I am worried search engines are going to see it as 2 different pages.

Set up a conditional 301 redirect that works for direct client requests.

Joomla has very many alternative URLs for the root page. Make sure you redirect them all.

In Joomla, I always setup additional home page links as URL links linked to [mydomain.com...]

Also, any logos or header images get linked to just " / "
