Wordpress for multilanguage site and blog

We use WP as the CMS for the main site (English and Spanish) and a different WP installation for the /blog (English only) of that site. The main navigation menu appears on both the main site and the /blog.

Its a disaster because my developer has created two admins (1 for site, 1 for blog).

Am I expecting too much from Wordpress?

Can anyone suggest a better setup for multilanguage site and blog?

Have you looked into any of the multi-lingual WP plugins?

Are you committed to staying with WP? Some CMS have internationalization built in.
