BuddyPress anyone?

I came across BuddyPress recently which is still in beta. Since I use wordpress mu from time to time and it requires this, I decided to try it out.
I am actually liking it a lot though it definitely needs some work. Its a set of plugins that transforms WP MU into a social networking website.
I was wondering if anyone has gone further and actually set up an active website with it? Any pros or cons?

I guess not. I'd never heard of it until now. I'm cobbling something with a social component together with drupal. Honestly wouldn't have thought WP for something that complex.

I hadn't either. Interesting idea but I wonder if it will slow to a crawl with significant membership. Only time will tell.

Drupal, Joomla etc would be a more robust choice.
