formerly Stellent

We are using Oracele's ECM (formerly Stellent's tool) as our CMS. I've tried to use Xenu as a broken link checker but it chokes on some pages including the dynamic pages.

Any ideas would be helpful

Do you know why it chokes? In other words, is it the URL structure or the speekd at which you're trying to access pages that's just overloading the server?

If the latter, can you change the settings on Xenu to open fewer threads and throttle back?

ergophobe - Xenu returns 404 error on dynamic pages and also returns results with a space in between the pages. I've pasted an example below but #*$! instead of the company name. Not sure how this site likes URLs. The reports are not as accurate as they have been with a static site.

http://www.example.com/DispensingSolutions/Search/index.htm?UserText=&CorpProdCategoryFilter=&CorpProdPropertyFilter=&QueryFilter=&Tab=4&fragment13_NextRow=21

\_____ error code: 404 (not found)

Thanks for your insight.

Oh, I see. I had previously had trouble with timeouts and protections against denial of service attacks kicking in and stopping xenu.

Anyway, I delinked the URL so I could see underscores.
Is that really a valid URL for your site? Most parameters are empty except "Tab=4" and "fragment13_NextRow=21". Is that really a parameter name?

Is Xenu finding all sorts of links that it shouldn't, is it finding links that are really on those pages and really are broken, or is it showing links as broken when they're valid?

HI ergophobe -

The link is valid, it's a dynamic page which seems to give Xenu issues. We have several pages that Xenu does find and either reports it as broken (when it's not) or returns the 1200 error.

Xenu is great, and was wonderful when we had a static site. Are there other tools for dynamic sites?
