Can someone please post or PM concise instructions on how to get Adsense running in a Wordpress blog? We are finding it very difficult for some odd reason.

I use the Adsense manager for WordPress. Martin the author is very responsive if there are any issues. You dont say which version of WP you are using or how you are trying to place Adsense code. If you are using WP 2.5, install the plugin and go to manage then ads, click create ads and create your ad.
I like that plugin because it serves more than just adsense.
