I have a website that I update regularly with whatever new content I can write. I have also created a related blog for it which is hosted on wordpress.com and my main purpose of creating this blog was to post news items related to my industry and link back to the different pages of my main site.

Both, my site and the blog are 1 year old and I am now seeing PR for both and as well as decent rankings for both. However, now I am contemplating moving the blog to my main site so that it will be available at - mydomain.com/blog using and implementing wordpress.org.

My question: Is this a wise thing to do? It is going to be more useful to shift my blog to my main url / site in terms of better content management and having related info directly on my site rather than hosted on a third party url - ie, wordpress.com

Please advise

You might like to consider putting your blog on a subdomain.
blog.example.com

That would keep things on the same domain, but still remain separate structure-wise for your CMS package.
