Hello webmasterworld,
I am in the last few stages of designing my website but I have hit a bit stand still as to how I should lay my categories out.

Being as it is halloween I will use that as my example:

Let's say our website is about food, seasonal events and fancy dress outfits.

halloween/food/spooky snacks
halloween/outfits/pumpkinman
christmas/outfits/santa
or
food/halloween/spookysnacks
outfits/halloween/pumpkinman
or
seasonal events/halloween/food/spookysnacks

This is really hurting my head, maybe I have spent too many hours looking at it and a fresh opinion could help?

Cheers

I've been inspired by these threads when it comes to the layout of categories and topics:

The taxonomy you use should enhance usability of the site

You can consider multiple (or multifaceted) classifications (each doc marketed as belonging in multiple categories)
