Weird referral entries

On a report from my stats program, on the page showing referring sites, I have 2 entries that are just "+++++". No words, no letters, just plus signs.

Anyone have any ideas what that would be? Some type of hack attempt? It's a W2K server.

I'm at wit's end here. They're not recurring visits, each only shows 1, but they're logged separately.

In my cases it's either been "Nimda" or someone who's put a lot of spaces in.

I see these regularly. I believe it is some kind of anonymising proxy.
