Traxis and SSI

I have a quick question re: Traxis. Do you put the SSI call for the script on each page in your site? My gut answer to this is yes but I just wanted to make sure. This is only me second ever attempt at implementing anything PERL.

I have a second question in this vein - can Traxis be run remotely? I have a cgi bin on my site that I am using to run Traxis for my clients but one of my clients doesn't host with me and does not have access to cgi on their server. Provided their server supports SSI can I just put the full path to traxis on my server and report there?

re ssi everypage: yes. That is how Traxis counts.

re remote: Only via the image call method which is currently non-functional Oil.

I'm having a problem with the counter call SSI. No matter where I put it, it shows up in the viewed page. I pasted the following code:
<!--#include virtual="/mypath/cgi-bin/traxis/traxis-counter.cgi"-->

I've gotten everthing else to work without a hitch. At first I thought it was because I was using Frontpage. But I tried it with just a straight text editor and it still shows upin the finished page. Any clues as to what I could be doing wrong??

i too have had ssi problems...

do you know if ssi is enabled on your server?

test with this on a page <!--#ECHO var="DATE_LOCAL" -->

if ssi is enabled, it should show the time...

BTW, IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO TRACK MULTIPLE URLS ON ONE SERVER , LET ME KNOW...

That worked no problems. I didn't even modify my htaccess file yet and the file extension is still .htm

So now why isn't the traxis counter call code working??????

Okay.....SSI problem solved, on to bigger and better ones. I'm now having the same problem someone else in another discussion had.....the one with the file from 1969 message. I can see the log file generate, but it gets generated to the main traxis directory, not the traxis/logs directory....I believe I have all the accesses set correctly. I have made sure the logs path is correct in all the setup files. Even still, the report generator can't find the log file even when I manually copy it to the right directory. I've tried changing the log directory path in setup too. Still in the report Log files found=0. Any ideas?
