I am getting a lot of page not found errors showing on WebTrends stats. All the pages have a /none in the path.

What causes this and how can I fix it?

The pages do have thumbnails that are supposed to be hyperlinked to the larger image. Could the hyperlink be messed up?

I cannot recreate the error.

thanks

have you taken a look at your actual logs to see where they are coming from?

Is this /none the only item in the path? And if not, is the rest of the path right, i.e. does it target an existing page?

The /none shows up in the WebTrends report as follows:

/none/
[domain.com...]

and

/subdirectory/none/
[domain.com...]

I use WebTrends and LiveStats to look at stats. What program to use and how do I look at the actual log files?

Thanks - this is a recurring problem and is driving me nuts!

This looks very strange. Only thing I can think of is if your links to the larger images are done in javascript and your users have turned it off.

I never used LiveStats, but I find WebTrends very good if you only want a little information about how your site performs.

To look at the actual files:

1. Find them. Somewhere on your web server, you should have files called something.log. Depending on how big they are, you can open them with an editor, as they are plain text. Alternatively, you can import them into Excel (up to 70'000 something entries) or Access.
