Free Web Page Counters with Stats

Where can I find one that is not a banner ad?

I'm pretty new to this stuff and I'm looking for a page counter that has stats. I was using an nbci counter, but it took so long to load from a dial up connection that I got rid of the thing. Any suggestions on where I could get one would be great.

Also, it would be great to get some feedback about my site. I'm promoting my physics and math tutoring business. The site is

Hi physics - a pretty decent free solutions is WebTrends Live [webtrendslive.com]. It requires that you put a Webtrends button on each page you want tracked but it works pretty well.

Also, if you have access to raw server logs there are several programs that will analyze them for you - let me know if you would like a list ;)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld by the way. I used to use the counter [thecounter.com] . I dropped using free counters a while back.

Something to check on/keep in mind is try putting it on a page that has no link to it. Randomly throughout one week hit/browse to that page. Make sure to do it at different times of the day also. I found a few years back when I used free counters that if their server gets busy it hangs your page while loading.

They also have an "invisible counter". I would recomend using that one. That way the surfer does not see the hit counter.

Back when I used free counters, I liked site meter [sitemeter.com] the best.

They use a very small image.

I've used Getstats, but it is very minimal, doesn't show spiders or search terms.

I've been told that the counter at bravenet.com shows search terms and is pretty good. It's just a small button, and I believe the info is private. I don't like when the info is publicly available - I don't think the search terms should be available to anyone else.

Gwj, did "thecounter.com" ever get their browser tracking figured out? Last year they wouldn't lump Opera in with IE.

[url=www.addfreestats.com]AddFreeStats[/url] have a small button the size of [url=www.webtrendslive.com]WebTrends Live[/url], and they have more useful reports in my opinion. The down side is that the AddFreeStats site itself is covered in ads and you have to endure some pop-ups.

In my opinion thecounter is one of the best since they allow you to hide the tracker. They also have one of the best stats around.

extreme-dm has even more stats than thecounter, but the free version, means everyone else can access stats. Both track stuff like referrers, SEs, configuration of users and more.

Has anyone used Urchin before? We're using them on a few sites and they seem to work okay. Anyone had experience with this?
