Been using Google analytics almost right after Google bought out Urchin. All I care about is macro data such as page views, visits, unique visits and the sort. The granular data Google gives is mostly meaningless (difficult to use as well) and I can get what I need from my resident Awstats analytics.

For clarity I have almost a million monthly visits and a relatively large and well established website. My revenue and traffic model does not rely on a narrow set of page views or subjects.

So, why should I carry the Google Analytics load?

Up to you Edge, if you don't need them they are just extra weight. IMO

The only concrete reason I’ve ever come across is that if you’re selling the site, a buyer might insist on third-party (i.e. GA) data. But, heck, you could always reinstall GA a few months before putting the site on the market.
