How to get basic UA reports?

I've recently installed GA4 code (though even that step I have questions about (i.e., right after HEAD tag as specified?, tagged to existing UA code? etc...). Anyhow, what's most baffling is how to find/create reports that resemble what UA has been doing for the past 15 years. I use UA pageTracker throughout the site ### onclick="javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/example' ### but am not seeing any of that in GA4. Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Google Analytics has recently released some 'How to' videos on YouTube - in the "Get Started with Google Analytics" video ( [youtu.be...] ), he places the code NOT immediately after the HEAD tag, but AFTER the last META DESCRIPTION tag. So in case anybody else was taking the GA4 directions literally (like I was and wondering WTH is going on!), you can rest assured that that's not the way they're implementing at Google.
