Can anyone out there recomend a free online web counter and stastic program that doesent put a banner on your page?

I had been useing hitometer by netscaped, and I was pleased with the results it gave. However as of late their service has been clunky and I cannot even seem to log on anymore.

Then I tried switching over to ytrack.com, however I have found it to be pretty lacking. One of the annoying things it does is switches over to a 'new day' at 12 noon instead of 12 midnight.

any suggestions?

You might want to try addfreestats.com.

I use them and like the "free" service.

eXTReMe Tracking only puts a small icon on your page and has reasonable stats. However, addfreestats has better reports...if you can make it thru all the ads on their site.

I use addfreestats on several sites. I like it. Good charts, lots of data, etc. Sure, the button is ugly, but.....

If you search webmasterworld for extreme tracker, you'll find a wonderful thread about how it is not password protected and, therefore, everyone will see your stats. (I believe the exact wording of the post was "I just caught my competitor w/ his pants down!". Truly a webmasterworld classic.)

My web hosting offers referral logs and recent visitors. However, I still need something to unzip and sort out the raw data of the referral logs. Plus, they reset the visitors at midnight, so, when I take a peek at 6am, I have no clue what happened from the time I logged off until midnight. I like my beauty sleep.

I just started to use [freelogger.com...] about a week ago. No banners and the option to show a counter on your page or not. No complaints with them so far.

The one at nedstat.com seems nice. Clickable button takes you to their web site in a NEW window, with visit counts, breakdown of visits by domain and country, graphs etc.

NedstatBasic is the free tool you sign up for.

Freelogger.com seems to be on the glitch again today.

Anyone know who runs that site?

Freelogger is run by Philip Iezzi, who also runs phpee.com (down as well)
I found a cached page for Freelogger on the alexa wayback machine which had the email: webmaster@iezzi.ch Although I think a more recent email is webmaster@phpee.com. Couldn't hurt to try webmaster@freelogger.com perhaps.
I could be wrong, but isn't the php script (phlogger) available free to developers? It would be nice for someone with a more reliable host to give it a whirl.

Freelogger.com is up and down like a whores knickers.
It's up at the moment and the full php script can be d/l'd from it's sister site at [phpee.com...]
It's released under the GNU license so anyone can spend a weekend getting their head into php mode and improving it.

A quick search will turn up dozens of sites that host phlogger... Currently using this site: [teradise.com...]
Might even have a play with the script myself over the weekend.
