What's up with the CMP? - Google's €1.5Bn fine

Why don't pubs have a CMP? What would make you get on?

Hi all,

I have a few friends who've received emails from Google saying they need to get a CMP (consent management platform). This could be related to the recent €1.5Bn fine they received -

A) Why do so many pubs not have a CMP right now?

B) What would make you decide to get a CMP?

It isn't about a platform... well it MIGHT be fo Google, but theirs is pretty cool already. It is more about "Informed consent". You can build you business out so that you inly store personal data when it is in both party's interests. It takes a bit of thought, but in the end, it is better imho.

More of a challenge for information hoarders... which of course includes Google. For me, deleting the last three digits of the ip number in analytics is a great start.
