Google Analytics Revenue Tracking

Is it possible to sync revenue down from Google Ads into Google Analytics?

The revenue is imported into Google Ads on a nightly basis and works by associating revenue to gclids.

We dont know the revenue from a lead right away because it's dependent on the market. So we cant use ecommerce tracking to populate revenue into the UA tag on the fly like an ecommerce site whose products have a static value.

Google Analytics is linked to Google Ads and so cost data is being pulled down from Google Ads into GA, but conversions and revenue are not.

Google Ads tracks to day of click, Analytics to day of sale... plus Analytics tracks all channels.. so Analytics eComm rev (or any imported Goals, Events, Revenue) will never match up completely to what tracked in Google Ads, they don't track things in the same way.

That said, there are many ways to import data into Analytics:

See "Next Steps" here:

Please read how this guide sets it up, reading thru how they do it might give you the "aha" moment you're looking for:

Thanks for the reply!

The first page (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3191589?hl=en) doesnt show revenue as an import option. Also, I read somewhere else that you can only upload so many files before you have to go back and delete some in order to upload more. Does the data stay in GA after upload? If so, why not auto-delete the file after import? But again, this assumes revenue import is possible which isnt mentioned on this page.

The second page (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6064694?hl=en&ref_topic=6064627) talks about data sets which only references revenue as a refund.

The third page (https://gaconnector.com/blog/salesforce-google-analytics-integration-guide/) talks about importing data from salesforce. We dont use salesforce.

What am I missing here?

Looks like it's the Measurement protocol that I am after. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Anyone who stumbles across this post who has experience working with the Measurement protocol to import offline revenue into GA, please PM me.
