HideSite in Webalizer

When using HideSite in Webalizer, is there not a means to get the .cfg file to update the existing data?

After adding HideSite to the webalizer.cfg in the form of "HideSite 192.168.1.2*", the existing data still remains in the stats following the command to recompile (in my situation with incremental).

What happened to prompt the need to hidesite is that linkchecker was used on another computer within the network a few times per day for about just under a week and caused the data to be way overinflated so much so that I can no longer get an at-a-glance close-up of the data I'm concerned about.

Do I have to turn off "incremental" and start over, then later re-activating the new incremental command?

If you have sufficient access to those files on the server you could filter out those IP addresses from the access logs using grep -v or equivalent.

The use of an additional step is what I'm trying to unwork myself out of now (i'm all grepped out and would rather have hidesite do it for me). Since posting the question, after trying something dumb, it's now decided to simply start over with hidesite in webalizer and see how that goes.

Sometimes the obvious is not that obvious. Have you closed down all systems, rebooted, and allowed the updated cfg to take effect?

isn't hidesite an "additional step"?
(that doesn't seem to work for you...)
wouldn't this be a one-time fix?

phranque: To Grep is to grep again. I simply never want to see anything mentioned in the webalizer ever again. You are right, it is not working for me (but still worth an ounce of effort because if I figure it out then there'll be no need to grep).

Also to phranque, did I do something wrong to violate a rule here? You stated:

"i missed that - welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], springfieldoh!"

but I'm not sure what you are referring to have missed (or what I might have missed). I clicked the link in your reply (webmasterworld.com) but could not read all of it (might need a few days)
