When using Webtrends I have noticed new SE's are not showing up in the referrals, also platforms like XP/XPPro are not showing up.

Do I need to update Webtrends?

TIA:)

A very simple answer, yes.

There are some things it might not pickup but if you always keep it updated there shouldn't be too many problems.

Regarding new SE's you can add them in the keywords.ini file located in the WebTrends program directory.

Check this URL [searchengineforums.com] for how-to.

When it comes to confiuring the keyword file that has the engines listed at the top. AOL looks something like this:

Engine11=AOL NetFind

and the bottom part that corresponds to AOL looks something like this:

[AOL NetFind]
ID1=netfind
ID2=aol
ID3=americaonline
KeywordIndicator1=&query=
KeywordIndicator2=?query=
KeywordIndicator3=&search=
KeywordIndicator4=?search=

Is it correct that this keyword file would lump all referrals from domains containing netfind, aol, and americaonline into the AOL line of the search referrals chart?

From a search string, how does one determine what this:

KeywordIndicator1=&query=
KeywordIndicator2=?query=
KeywordIndicator3=&search=
KeywordIndicator4=?search=

part of the keyword.ini file should look like for each engine. How would that be determined from the aol search string below?

[search.aol.com...]

What should the entry look like?
