I've installed https on several sites this week and on some of them Statcounter and Awstats seem to have stopped working altogether however AdSense is showing everything as normal.

I've tried Statcounter's own reinstall code and it doesn't seem to have made any difference plus I can't find anyone else who has experienced this.

Surely it's not just me?

Sometimes a web server or control panel creates separate access logs for HTTPS, and Awstats may not automatically be configured to parse those. I've never used StatCounter but perhaps you need to change a setting to that the HTTPS site is tracked, too. Hard to say what else it could be without details.

I agree. Stats programs just count and create a report on the number of times files are requested from a URL. That URL has now changed.

Whether you can just change a setting or it's necessay to start a new copy of the software will be determined by how it's written.

As you discovered, Adsense is set up by account so as long as the ad code is working, so should the report.

I have statcounter on some https pages, works fine. If you are reinstalling the wrong version it might not work. You need to add the https: at statcounter and then get new code for the doctype you are using. It's just javascript with a noscript backup, but the codes are different for various protocols and doctypes.

I'm going to leave it another couple of days before panic sets in!

All my sites have now been affected in both Statcounter and Awstats with PVs way, way down with some sites not reporting any PVs whatsoever for yesterday and today. I've tested all the sites from different locations with different devices and, for me, all are 301'ing fine using the Plesk 301.

Whilst the last couple of days AdSense PVs and earnings have been down about 15%, today's is a disaster so far with not even 10% of average PVs so far including the one and only site I have not changed to https!

What will tomorrow bring, 20+ yearsworth of wipeout?

Problems resolved!

Reinstalled Statcounter on one specific site, all working well now, I have to assume the low PVs for some sites were this new algorithm going through since numbers seem to be getting back to normal, fingers crossed.
