Hey all. About 6 weeks ago we implemented the latest analytics tracking code and since then our stats have gone haywire. Overall session reporting seems normal but referral and landing page data is down by 90%, search queries "not set" have gone from 58% (pre-update) to 84%.
The tracking code we were previously using was the same we'd had for years - the small snippet. When searching for solutions I've come accross mentions of Universal Analytics and the need to active it after updating the code. That doesn't seem to be the case any more though. Analytics didn't tell me to switch to Universal Analytics. It just said "update tracking code". There's no mention anywhere of activating anything.
To complicate matters, we also changed the site from http to https but I don't think that's an issue. We made that change May 10 (and updated analytics settings accordingly). Stats were normal until we updated the tracking code on May 15, then the dramatic drop-off of data over 2 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! We can't split-test or accurately monitor conversions until we get this sorted.
