no conversions for new website: is traffic the issue?

At what traffic size should I worry if no conversions for a new website?

I have launched a new website that offers consulting services. I built the site with some minimal content (about us / services / portfolio) and purchased advertising.

So far, site has no conversions, even although I had some traffic. My question is at what point should I worry about site usability and site content and focus less on getting traffic.

Since current traffic is brought only via advertising and visitors are highly targeted using relevant keywords, I am confused to the reason for lack of results. So, there is not the risk of irrelevant traffic, I would expect at least some 1% conversion rate, but so far in over 200 visits I did not even get a simple inquiry via the contact form.

The niche is very competitive. If there's no real content to intrigue the visitor, there's no reason for them to stick around. I'd fix that content issue first. If you want it to work, you have to invest some work in it.
