Confused by sessions, users & new users

Hi,
I'm a little confused by something that I guess is quite basic.

I'm struggling to get an accurate figure on the total amount users my site has received over the course of a month as well as the amount of new users the site has received.

For example, in the audience overview screen it shows that there have been 7133 sessions and 5068 users.

However, when I go to Behaviour > New vs Returning my data seems a little strange.

New Visitor - 4748 sessions | 100% New sessions | 4748 New Users
Returning Visitor - 2385 Sessions | 0% New Sessions | 0 New Users

The sessions add up to the overview figure of 7133, but the amount of users doesn't.

Does anyone know why my data is showing up like this?

5068 is the total number of users, both 'New' and 'Returning' but after the first visit your 'New' users move into the 'Returning' category. For you to have the same number of users in the Overview as in the Behavior report they would all need to be either New or Returning. The Overview number of users combines both for the total and the Behavior report counts them more than once: first as New and then as Returning.

So if I understand correctly there were 5068 users to the site and 4748 were new?
