Can GA track HTTPS vs HTTP

I'd like to know if we are actually getting "S" traffic

Working out the canonical "s" thing with a few sites. Amazing how many times I've found this becoming a problem!

Yes, I understand how important getting this right is, but I want to know what the actual stats are.

Is there a way to set up Google Analytics Universal to track which protocol was used for which page?

You know - did a page load via http or https, and can I view comparative source / medium, engagement, conversion etc?

If there isn't, shouldn't there be something like this - even to track shopping cart pages and such?

i can't seem to find anything really precise about this anywhere.

It sounds as if you're trying to track something you shouldn't be permitting in the first place. It's like asking how many people visited your site as example.com vs how many used www.example.com.

yah - i truly just want to make a case going back in time as to what was happening.

i also want to know if the fixes I put in place are doing what they are supposed to be doing.

and yes, when taking over a new site, i most definitely want to be able to view traffic via www vs non-www as well.

savage amusement I know, but it helps to be able to prove a point the next time when someone mumbles 'this doesn't matter'...
