Keywords: a thing of the past

Not sure how long this has been active, but recently came across the fact that Google will now be omitting keywords on its google analytics stats. The emphasis is to be placed on trending due to user approval, e-word of mouth, etc. In essence, I believe an organic way to determine rankings.

I realize Google Adsense still provides you a way to have access to these keywords but that is not the long term objective for Google now. (opinion)

Any feedback on this, since SEO appears to have one of its "foundational bricks" as keyword optimization.

Thank you in advance.

Omitting keywords? That horse left th ebarn a long time ago unless I misunderstand.

The keywords available in Analytics now all come from somewhere else (Webmaster Tools or AdWords potentially depending on how you're set up).
