And this last line for 300 times.

Is this the error?

If you have something like a Control Panel, you can view your error logs and see if there are errors that need to be fixed. Something as small as a missing ";" can cause an error. It looks like there may be an error in the redirect because it keeps getting redirected for each part of the page that needs to load. A 301 should only need to redirect once, not repeatedly for every image and css file that is part of your page.

My suggestion: Check the error log first. Then check your 301. One other suggestion is to take that IP that is XXX.XXX'd out here to your faorite WHOIS lookup to be sure it is a human (coming from a telecom/ISP and not a hosting server).

Hey not2easy,

I have check the error log file and nothing was missing. i have also checked with the Ip adres and it are all 'normal' human ip's.

The htaccess i have checked as well, but i think i have a misconfiguration.

The strange thing is dat it only applies to a few visitors and not all.

Do you know Htaccess and can you take a look if i can post?

Hi KeesB and welcome to the forums. You can get help with questions about htaccess in our Apache Forum here: [webmasterworld.com...]
You can paste the part you want help with in that forum, please replace "your-domain.com" from any pasted code with "example.com" to help save on cleanup work. If you're in a hurry, you can also use the search and possibly find just what you need in a few minutes. Hint: more recent is often more useful.

There's one other thing you can try yourself, though you may sttill end up in Apache:

/?lang=nl&page=pagename

Using a utility such as LiveHeaders, see what happens if you yourself request this URL. You might even throw in User-Agent spoofing (most browsers let you do this) and see if the result is affected.

It looks as if the bit with the query string is the only thing being redirected-- and, interestingly, the redirect shows up both on the first referer-less request and on subsequent requests giving your page as referer.

A 301 should only need to redirect once, not repeatedly for every image and css file that is part of your page.

For future reference, here's your one exception :) A request from an infected browser, using the wrong form of your hostname. Since the 403 is issued before domain-name canonicalization, requests for supporting files used by the 403 page (including the favicon, which may not be explicitly linked at all) will also get a 301 response.

Lucy24,

Thank you for your response.
I still have not figure out what is causing the problem.

It does seem to happen a lot less now that the old urls are removed from search engines. but it still happens to much because people have bookmark of shared the old URL.

I am not sure what you mean with:

I do see in my log that the favicon can be requested 200 times, or that my sprites.png is being requested 2 times.

Also fiddler is saying something i cant figure out myself:

How should i go from here because i am not sure what you mean and how to take action.
