Campaign tracking on outbound links

How to track outbound links in Google Analytics

I'm wondering if it is possible to use Campaign tracking on outbound links?

For example: http://www.myoutboundlink.com/?utm_source=Website_Outbound&utm_medium=Banner&utm_campaign=Webinar

Or is an event a better method to use to track? Adding onClick to the element.

You can track outbound links as events in Google Tag Manager.
Install GTM / UA
Create a Link Click Listener tag to be fired on all pages
Create an Event with Label value as {{element url}}
Create a firing rule where {{event}} equals gtm.linkClick and {{element url}} does not contain yourwebsitename.com

I am actually using events to track my outbound links and it's working very well.
