Hi Guys

I use Statcounter for my website hits analysis.

Just wanted to know if Google Analyitcs shows you here each hit comes from?

(w)here each hit comes from

GA reports geographic location and click source information in aggregated form - not sure to which you were referring.
as far as "each hit" is concerned, under some circumstances you might be able to segment a specific hit but not in general.

So that convinces me to keep Statcounter as it shows me what domain each of my hits are coming from.

Plus the fact the Google seems to have very tedious user interfaces.

What do others think ?

We moved from Statcounter to Piwik a year ago, definitely recommended. The only downside is that you can't track previous visits easily, but that's a feature that should be coming soon, and compared to GA it's much easier to use and more accurate.

@Alex
Could you please tell us why you moved from Statcounter to Piwik?

Offhand I can't think of any halfway decent (or even halfway indecent ;) ) analytics package that doesn't show referrer data.

Digmen mostly because we now have access to all our stats, forever, without limits, plus our data is now ours and only ours, and the third reason was that we were having problems slicing and dicing the data to draw any meaningful conclusions and insights from it on SC. You won't look back!
