How long does it take to get an Alexa ranking?

Hi guys
Does anyone know exactly how and when Alexa rank your website?

I signed up with Alexa for a new website 2 months ago.

My Alexa ranking is still N/A.

I know they use a 3 month rolling average, so does that mean I have to wait 3 months to show up?

They are showing my 2 backlinks, but no other data.

Of course it maybe just the fact that I am not getting enough hits yet.

Quite likely. Alexa only gives good data about the top 1 million websites that it knows about as I recall. If you are not in the top 1 million, they may not show any data.

yes, but does anyone "know" if you can get an Alexa rating in a few days if you have lots of hits or do you have to wait for their 3 month average to kick in?

Yeah just got my Alexa rating.

So it looks like they wait for the 3 months period to kick in.
