Google Analytics shows - Decrease in direct traffic

4:32 pm on Oct 12, 2012 (gmt 0)

Dear All,

My site provides fresh content on daily basis. And i was getting very good number of visitors over there since long. But since last two days even though site is running fine and we do not have done any major changes we lose direct visitors on our site according to google analytics.

Can you please let me know the reason behind it?

One more thing I would like to share with you that is I changed my SEO Guy since two days only and they are doing all the same activities which were done by the older SEO guy content creation, promotion and all the same way. So I am worried about the things that what can be the reason? Am I cheated by my earlier SEO Guy or what? Did he provide me the fake number of visits?

Hope for quick positive and valid replies, Please help my guys, i am too much worried about it.

Thanking you in advance,

Are you getting these numbers by looking at Google Analytics yourself?

Or is your SEO telling you what the numbers are?

If it's the latter, maybe the two SEO guys count direct visitors differently.

if you had a proper analytics package like piwik or statcounter that show visitor IP, you might find out where all your "direct visitors" came from

If it's direct info from Google Analytics window - old SEO guy do all right, but he may using some addition soft to annoy you or worse.

Do you or have you recently setup any IP address filters?

Quick word of advice- don't hire SEO pros to provide content.
