how to maintain the traffic in weekends?

Hello,

I have a site that provides valuable content to its visitors for free.
But in weekend if i don't do any promotional activity for the site, I might lose the number of visitors.
so is there any idea to maintain that traffic without doing that promotional activities?

Independent of traffic sources weekends are slower for most websites. About 40% traffic drop for me when comparing Saturday (worst day) with Tuesday (best day).
