Google Analytics - New version vs. Old

I'm not understanding this. I just recently switched from the Old version to the New version of Google Analytics.

The Old version just says 910 visits today for one of my sites.

New version says -

910 Visits
2,423 Unique Visitors

How does it get such a higher Unique Visitor number if the total number of visits is only 910 ?

seem confusing..

I just checked a couple of my sites and they seem OK.
