How to find out what search terms were used

Webalizer does it, how can PHP do it?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering how Webalizer is able to see what search terms a user typed when they arrive from a search engine?

Specifically I'd like to use PHP but my only guess is that it's usually from the query string in the user's address bar from when they click on your site in the search results?

Any info would be appreciated!

It is through $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']

If I am not wrong this is log analyzer which checks your log files.

... and the log files will contain, in the referrer field of the logs, the URL/query string that was in the user's address bar from when they click on your site in the search results?
