I am currently handling an existing Webtrends setup for a huge organisation. We are currently running Webtrends 6.0 on 2 Solaris boxes. This is only log file analysis.
To support the increasing load, we are considering an upgrade to Webtrends 8.0. We intend to continue with the log file analysis since all Intranet/Internet content is published from content management systems and intend to incorporate SDC tag support slowly.
I have some queries which I hope some of you will kindly help me with :
-> We intend to use dual 'User Interface' machines to take the load of the Analysis systems. In this case, do I have to define 2 DNS (for the Intranet) names for the 2 machines? Where is the authentication handled?
-> We are looking at more than 1 SDC machines. Can they work in a cluster or do they have to be accessed individually?
-> How can I safely enable anti-virus scans on Webtrends directories without causing conflicts with the analysis process?
-> Any possible 'gotchas' I should keep an eye out for during the upgrade and things to be closely monitored after?
