The total hits are always in multiples of 300.
Like 300 or 600 or 900 ....
For example:

pool-71-254-180-223.lsanca.fios.verizon.net 300

c-24-6-191-243.hsd1.ca.comcast.net300
120.80-203-102.nextgentel.com300
70.208.118.70.cfl.res.rr.com 600
c-67-184-234-224.hsd1.il.comcast.net 600
ip68-2-88-31.ph.ph.cox.net 600
adsl-68-78-108-50.dsl.emhril.ameritech.net 600
243.80-203-11.nextgentel.com 600
Etc.
This is quite suspicious as the number of hits for most hosts are all over the place. The multiples of 300 stand out.
Anyone have ideas about what is up with a pattern like this, where the hosts seem to differ?
-- Are the hits to .html files only? Or do they get graphics with .html? What about other file types like .txt, .mov, .ico, etc.?
-- Regardless of file type, are your 'multiples' visitors hitting the same files? Do they came back again, and do it again?
-- Are the User-agents different, from host to host, and/or from visit to visit?
-- Are the hits rapid-fire, akin to a robot, or is the rate more 'human'?
TIA for helping ease my curiosity, even if I can't ease yours!
