3rd party checkout conversion interpretation.

I wonder if anyone offer their oppinion on these statistics.

This site has a 3rd party checkout (worldpay) so i can only track visitors/sales so far. below are some statistics for the page before the jump to world pay.

2.78% Entrances
97.22% Previous Pages
/checkout.php 94.44%
/conditions.php 2.78%

34.21% Exits
65.79% Next Pages

/index.php 78.26%
/my-account.php 4.35%
/ 4.35%
/shopping-cart.php 4.35%
/checkout.php4.35%
/mp3-product-listing.php?*****_category_id=80 4.35%

My interpretation is 34% are completing the sale with world pay and 65% are not, would that be a fair assesment? or am i missing something.

Having been a Worldpay user, I think your assessment is correct but I always used analytics for the "thank-you" response page which gave me details of the shopping basket, the products bought with prices paid tied to the source of referral (with up to the last 5 visits before purchase being tracked).

Doing it this way gave little doubt as to what conversion ratios were.

Thats interesting when I ran through the payment process i did not see a referal back to a thankyou page, just the opportunity to return by clicking on a link.

I know the site I inhertied fails to convert on serveral levels which i need to address, but 65% of buyers leaving before the jump to world pay seems quite high would, that be the norm?

I dont have much experience with 3rd party payment process systems, when I look back over the course of last year that statistic holds true throughout. I belive that an integrated payment process system would certantly improve on those statistics but I have little to make a comparison on.
