In my google analytics graphis I see a very high number under "google[organic]". I know, however, that many of these traffic is PPC from the google sites. How do I distinguish between the real SERPS traffic and the traffic comming from my own advertising?

Something I have been trying hard to do for a while, and although every change I make brings different results, none of them are accurate so any help anyone can give would be appreciated!

have your ppc ads link to a special page you only use for that, change the file name of this page every month to insure that they are not getting listed in organic serps. Have the page your ppc links to, automatically re-direct to your URL.
Not something I have tried, something I just thought would work for you.
I don't think there is an easy way...

There is a setting in your AdWords account that will tag your ads so that Analytics knows they are paid. Later, you will see google[cpc] in your Analytics.
Account> My Account> Account Preferences> Tracking set auto-linking to 'yes'

I remember I saw "google[cpc]" sometime in the past, but I can't see it now. I think the problem starts there.
I went to my account settins and I do have that "Auto-linking:Yes" setting activated.
Some bug in my account?

That sounds like a bug. Do you have a report called "AdWords Analysis?" It should be under the marketing tab. If there is no data there then it would seem that the tagging is not working properly.
