I'm currently working on the operating system market share bit of my statistics script and while I know people may spoof their user agents occasionally I'd still like a better understanding of how to interpret the less explicit user agents. Here are some I'm not sure how to interpret...

Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.15692/20.2513; U; en)

Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.21465/22.387; U; id) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54

NetFront/3.5.1(BREW 3.1.5; U; en-us; SAMSUNG; NetFront/3.1.5/AMB) Sprint M550 MMP/2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1

SCH-U450/1.0 NetFront/3.0.22.2.20 (GUI) MMP/2.0

I'm familiar with the NetFront and Opera Mini browsers though I have this undesirable feeling I may have to associate an OS with certain phone models?

I've been running a project involving user agent identification for about 12 years and can tell you there are so many thousands of different mobile device user agent strings that it's nearly impossible to identify them all by their exact model name/number.

I figured there would be an ugly answer, thanks!

What stats program are you using? Google is trying VERY hard to optimize their Identification of mobile devices
