Google DC 72.14.203.104 weird errors in logs

I'm seeing repeated errors in my logs from Google DC 72.14.203.104 requesting files that don't exist on my site. My site is travel-related, and the files the above DC are requesting look to be travel-related -- lots of reference to individual hostel numbers and hotel databases -- but they're not files that exist anywhere on my site.

Also I'm seeing a substantial number of search queries from that particular DC rather than google.com -- can anyone advise why that would be the case?

Hi Stuart,

My first guess would be a site somewhere with backlinks to those bad URLS. Try Yahoo's siteexplorer to see if you can track one of the requests down in a backlinks url check. If so, Googlebot is travelling down those links.
