What is the best and most reliable way to track which links are being clicked in our newsletter - for free?

I know there are several companies who will send your newsletter and track your links for a fee - but i am interested in using a free service to track the links we provide in our newsletter. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

add a parameter that is not evalued on your target system to your newsletter eg http://example.com/myoffer.html?recipientemailadress@domain.com

then you have to personalize each sent newletter of course so that the email adress gets switched to the recipients adress.
After your mailing you just need to look up all entries of http://example.com/myoffer.html?recipientemailadress@domain.com in your web servers log file and you know exactly who clicked on the link and who didn't...
