How to implement Google Analytics w/ a third party shopping cart

Hello,

I use google adwords and just set up the analytics and it seems awesome.

Problem is, one of my e-commerce sites uses a third party shopping cart service, so when a user clicks on "add to cart" or checks out, they are taken to a different domain. I want to use analytics to measure conversions and this seems to be a problem with 3rd party shopping carts.

Now, I can add html and java to the receipt page but I also need to change the coding of my cart buttons and checkout process. The samples on the Google help pages do not match what I seem to have and I'm not good enough with looking at it to know if it's compatible.

Question is, does anyone have any experience setting up Google analytics with a 3rd party shopping cart, and if so how did you do it and what problems did you have?

Thanks

I have tried to do this and we are not able to with our third-party ordering system. No analytics tracking, no affiliates (if we did affiliates, they would be on a commission basis), etc. It's disappointing, but I just get what info I can on the front end before the user goes server-side.
