What's this Google Search channel in referrer log?

I can't seem to find anything about what this channel means in my referrer log. Possibly related to adsense?

A visit to my site from a Google link similar to google.com/search?q=keyword1 keyword2 keyword3&channel=linkdoctor has got me curious and I can't find anything in seaching for it and it doesn't seem to be from a custom search either. Anyone have an idea?

Are the keywords relevent to your content? If so, then do you think personal search is coming into play?

Yes the keywords were 100% relevant. A general Google search has the same number of results and my domain has the same 2 positions in either search. Maybe it is personal search.

I originally mistakenly thought that this "channel" had less results than a general google search like it was a select group of domains or themed sites... that's what had me the most curious.

I just found one of those &channel=linkdoctor like this..

www.google.ca/search?q=mytown hair ca&channel=linkdoctor

The searcher was a local looking for a salon so its not a google employee... unless they are visiting us up here in Canada.

Anyone know what this &channel=linkdoctor thing is?

google.co.uk/search?q=KEYWORD&channel=linkdoctor
