Adding user access to view reports in Google Analytics

Can't get it work; anyone else?

I've added another user in Google Analytics to view the reports of my website, but it doesn't specify a password or place to log-in for this new user.

The user also hasn't received any email from Google; anyone had experiences adding a third party user to view an analytics profile? i've read the FAQ over and over but can't find the solution - am i missing something?

they need a gmail address. once you list them, they can log-in with their own gmail address and password.

one of my clients, with a google account, still can't access analytics.

I think you have to request a new password just for this...I mean to sign in you need your gmail account, but another password.

adding google accounts just worked for me (no separate password necessary). i contacted them before and this was their response:

Thank you for your email. When adding new users to your Google Analytics account, the email address you enter for each user must be a Google Account. When these users log in, they should use their Google Account password.

Also, they will be able to login from [google.com...]

I ran across an odd problem, which support confirmed: It's currently not possible to add users (to view reports etc.) that have an @googlemail.com adress (due to trademark issues, Google is not allowed to issue gmail-adresses to users in Germany anymore).

The suggested workaround was to make those users register another Google-Account (independent of the mail-service). And indeed that worked.
