My site is showing #2 out of 18 million pages in Google on my mac using Safari, but not on anyone elses that I can find. Sometimes on a first search my site is not there but if I then click the search button a second time... viola it shows up in the number two spot.

What is going on here? Is this a regular thing seen elsewhere?

The site is an expose of Federal crimes so the behavior has me a little spooked (no pun intended). So far none of my friends computers show it up in the second spot tho they do show it on the second page. This has been going on a week now. When I do the second click on other computers I do NOT see the same behavior. Comments would be greatly appreciated to clear this up if it can be cleared up.

Hi dan,

Don't worry - it sounds all quite normal.

Google has lots of different data centres. the algorithm is not always the same on every single one. So - you refresh your search and a different data centre may handle the next query.

Dixon.

How long does it take for all the centers to agree? If I see changes from the original position on the second click can I reasonable assume that that is what is going to propogate to the other centers?
Thanks
Dan
