Hi

First post on here, so hope I am in the right place.

I am doing some work on some domains and I need to be able to research historic search terms and volumes.

Ideally I need to do something like search keywords and volumes for, April 2009 vs April 2008, but failing that even just for March 2009.

Is there anything available that does this? The normal Google keyword tool only does the previous month, and thats no good if you are researching say, a domain to develop around Easter, as there arent many Easter based searches in October!

I've also tried Google trends, but it is a bit patchy and doesnt have the search terms and volumes.

Hope someone can help!

Cheers!

Google Trends is the only way I know. Only problem with Google Trends is that it only works for head terms and even then the numbers are for broad match. If you type in the word golf you will get numbers for the term golf and terms like plaid golf pants all together.

Thanks Ogletree - what I ended up doing was taking the previous months keyword seach and multiplying it by the factor on Google trends and then dividing by 42% to get an idea of how much traffic would go to a site that had the exact same domain name as the keyword search term that was in position 1.

Its not great but I think its the best I can do.

Thanks for answering though :)
