Is possible to track ranking with google API?

I have seen old URL from google like:

There is new one but is possible to track ranking within google automatic?

I've seen a "keyword ranking tool" that implements this as a hosted service. Similar to the SOAP-based one, except that it limits to 32 results (IIRC). Don't think I can mention the URL here.
