Hi all. I'm new here. I am looking for a resource that will help me take our log data and/or database data and narrow down all referrals to the search engine universe. I know that Webtrends and other packages do that in their software, but I am looking for the raw data that would help us do it on our own. Anybody know of a service or a group that keeps information like that fairly up to date? (i.e. a way to tell us that traffic from a site like aol is either from a search or from some other aol referral source). Thanks.

Hi akomack and welcome to Webmaster World. Let's see if a little bump will get you an answer. I've fortunately been lucky with a nephew in college that's been able to work on our logs - have you thought of that? Not my nephew of course but perhaps placing an ad up in Commercial Exchange [webmasterworld.com] for someone who could customize a program for your logs? It's amazing the knowledge base out there.

Thanks Paynt for the reply. I should have mentioned that we are a web development firm with pretty heavy experience in Internet-related custom software development and we are prepared to do this on our own. I was just hoping to cut down on our work by finding a database/file with multiple search engine URLs already tagged to their respective search engine. We can do the manual work ourselves, it's just tedious. If someone else out there maintains a file that is available that would help us.
