"Mini Pay Per Click System"

Hi,

I am trying to get some sort of a system that will allow me to determine how many clicks an advertiser got from my site, and allow my advertisers to move upwards within theyre category by choosing higher pay per click dollar amount.

i.e if i have a widget category/tab and 5 widget companies that are listed in my directory...so 1company now pays 0.50 cents per click and company b wants to pay 0.55 cents per click etc...

in short..looking for a "mini overture like system"

Would it be a custom written program? or can buy 1 thats made allready? anyone?

One way (I am sure there are others) is to have a .asp or php page on your site, maybe with a page counter, which redirects to any given web page, and then simply see how many times the page has been loaded.

So... instead of linking to www.example.com, link to yoursite.***/redirect.asp?url=www.example.com I am not a coder, but the .asp page basically does this:

If No URL is given, display the counter value. Otherwise, increase the counter by one and redirect to the URL.

Crude and clunky, but I have had lots of coffee and too much screen watching to be more help just now :)

Another way... most tracking systems already track exit pages and URLs... check to see if yours does too.

Take a look at the ad server section on hotscripts or another script directory. Last time I looked there are one or two which might do what you want.
