Is my HTTP referrer info automatically set for me ?

Do I need to set HTTP referrer info so my site is shown as referrer in logs

Hi

Probably an easy question, but haven't seen a definitive answer anywhere...

I have a website that acts as a product directory with external links to various manufacturers / suppliers websites.

Will my website automatically show up in the manufacturers / suppliers web logs as the referrer when the visitor lands on their site by clicking on one of my external links?

Or do I have to set a particular value for my refferer info?

Thanks

Anybody any ideas? I have a suspicion that the pages on my website that contain the outbound links are not been credited with a referral on the external sites web logs?!

Thanks

Hi,
Referrers are sent on the client side (the one who is clicking the link). There is nothing on the server to setup - it will all work by default.

Thanks for the reply Chip

I think I've found the problem - all my external links are set to open in a new window which is wiping any referral info, hence my site is not showing as the referrer when new window opens.

Cheers
